| IT'S ALL ABOUT CARING!

It was during World War II, between the years of 1939 and 1945, that the "Durdans" premises located in the heart of Colombo City became a haven for the sick and injured British military personnel stationed in Ceylon. With the cessation of hostilities in May 1945, the ethos of healing and caring was continued, when a group of reputed medical practitioners, realizing the need for private healthcare in Ceylon, and fired with a vision, incorporated a company known as "Ceylon Hospitals Limited" to own and operate "Durdans Hospital".

Through visionary leaderships and strategic initiatives since 1992, the company progressively infused state-of-the-art knowledge and cutting edge technology along with infrastructure development into the healthcare system at Durdans Hospital.

This included the introduction of enhanced management practices, systems and procedures. Today, Durdans Hospital has become one of the leading tertiary medical institutions, providing world-class technology and services in healthcare to the people of Sri Lanka.

While Sri Lanka's healthcare has been lauded by experts around the world as one of the most pragmatic systems in South Asia, Sri Lanka's private healthcare sector is proud to have been part of this momentum, giving citizens of the country a choice of quality healthcare with affordability and expertise at the helm.
