| OUR MISSION

As a healthcare institution, we know that our primary responsibility is the improvement and development of the community to foster, develop, empower and sustain it by providing greater opportunities.

A healthy, stronger more empowered and better educated community can facilitate greater productivity towards the macro picture of development.

One of our primary projects that has spanned many years has been the free medical camps held in rural areas of the country to ensure that medical care and consultation are received by communities living in difficult conditions. The camps, held free of charge, are conducted by our very own consultant specialists, doctors, nurses and support staff.

We have also been instrumental in bringing relief to people who have been affected by drought and floods in different paths of the country, not forgetting the people devastated by the Tsunami of 2004, by providing dry rations, bottled water and conducting medical camps as well as special prenatal program, which prove to be a dire need in times of natural disaster.

  | BEING A GOOD CORPORATE CITIZEN

In the interests of the public, we hold regular workshops, outreach awareness program and dialogue sessions between specialists and segments of the community on cardiac care, critical care and general health.

To mark our 60th anniversary, Durdans conducted a cardiac workshop, where two international Cardiologists from the EHIRC and a group of Sri Lankan Cardiologists shared their experiences at an academic session and performed a live demonstration, introducing new technology known as 'Distal Protective Device'.

Realizing the importance of conserving Sri Lanka's rich cultural heritage, we have embarked on a project of re conservation of the ancient Mihintale Hospital (Vedahala)
